Terms for youth sailings

ROUTE AND AGE LIMITATIONS

Route and age limitations will be defined separately for each sailing. Under 18-year-old trainee needs to have parents permission in written.

TRIPS TO DESTINATION PORTS

Everyone is responsible for their own trips to departure and arrival ports and arriving to the ship on time.

INSURANCES

Helsingin Purjelaivakonttori has insurance required from passenger ships. Everyone takes care of their own travel and accident insurance.

CATERING

Catering will be defined separately for each sailing. The catering served aboard will be prepared together.

PAYMENTS

The whole price must be paid before the trip.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations 30 days before the trip: Refund 50 % of the total cost.
Cancellations under 30 days before the trip: Refund 25 % of the total cost.
Cancellations under 7 days before the trip: No refund.

CHANGES IN THE SAILING PROGRAM AND SCHEDULE DUE TO SHIP

If the trip is cancelled because of the ship, all the expanse paid by the sail trainee will be returned. The ship will not refund costs or losses caused for the sail trainee due to changing schedule or ports off call, such as accommodation or transport to or from the ship, if the reason for changes is not caused by the ship. Such reasons can be for example extreme weather or extreme weather forecast or dangerous sailing conditions, actions carried out by officials, damage to the ship, external factors such as strike, war or event of sickness / disease on board and the actions caused by it.

ALCOHOL, SMOKING AND NARCOTICS

Drinking alcoholic beverages is forbidden when the ship is sailing. Smoking is allowed only in marked areas. Drug use and possession is prohibited aboard. In case of minor, under 18-years-old we will inform the trainees parents and also authorities if needed. If necessary the trainee can be removed from the ship and send home with hes/hers own expense.

DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR

In case of disruptive and dangerous behavior the trainee can be removed from the ship and send home with hes/hers own expense. In case of minor, under 18-years-old we will inform the trainees parents and also authorities if needed. We apply the Finnish law aboard and possible disagreements will be settled in the Helsinki District Court.
